Day 15: 10 Seconds

Playlist: BS Report with Seth Meyers

On my walk, I listened to the BS podcast with Seth Meyers.  During part of their conversation, they talked about 10 second commercials for online videos.  Here are some of my 10-second thoughts:

  1. If I ever learn how to do anything creative on my new mac, I’ll create & post some 10 second commercial ideas.
  2. I’ve decided I’m strong because I haven’t cried over my back pain since last Friday.
  3. Mother may know best.  She recommended I see a doctor/physical therapist since I also have scoliosis in addition to chronic back pain.
  4. I have got to be the worst at Fantasy Football.  I’ll still talk smack, but I’m about 5 points away from losing this week.
  5. I don’t understand why Frank Ocean starts playing the video game at the end of the song: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtmy14_frank-ocean-pyramids-snl-9-15-12_music
  6. Jon Stewart is an excellent guide for Bullshit Mountain:

  7. SNL had a great opening skit:  http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/obama-vs-romney-cold-open/1417234
  8. Listening to Bay Buchanan talk about President Obama on Meet the Press, I felt like this is what she really meant:  Mitt Romney will save you from the dark blackness of President Obama.
  9. There’s no place like home and going to back to see old friends this weekend made us realize that things between us haven’t changed that much: we talk, laugh, eat in silence (because we’re too busy eating), and like to make fun of people at the bar.  We laugh even when we don’t know why we’re laughing.
  10. I’m really glad I bought Pink’s new cd The Truth About Love
  11. I think I want to create a podcast.  Not because I have stuff to say that people want to hear but because I can.

Day 10: Both Ways

Playlist: BS Report – The over/under podcast with Cousin Sal, Part 1

Maybe I’m too impatient but I thought after walking and/or doing some sort of exercise everyday, I’d be in slightly better shape by now.  Could it be all the cobblers and ice cream I’ve been eating?

Since watching the RNC last week and watching the DNC this week, I’ve developed an appreciation for the old school politicians who are willing to adapt, regardless of their own beliefs or personal opinions, and sell the party line.  In particular, I’m thinking about the Clintons.  I have yet to want to vote one into office, but I admire what it took for Hilary to join the Obama team.  It couldn’t have been easy but I don’t think anyone could have done it better.

I am on the verge of registering as a Democrat but then I look at the DNC schedule and see who’s speaking.  Governor Brian Schweitzer is not on the list.  It’s things like this that I do not understand.  He did an excellent job at the 2008 DNC and Montanans seem to like him, so why doesn’t he have a confirmed speaking time?

This song has a familiar feel to it.  I love it.

Day 4: The BS Report

Today while I was walking I tuned into the latest update from the BS report and tuned everything else out.  There’s something therapeutic listening to Bill Simmons & Jacko talking about baseball.  It would’ve only been better if Jacko would’ve been on an angry Yankee rampage.
