Seattle DOT

How do you spell ineptitude?  In Seattle it is spelled: S-E-A-T-T-L-E-D-O-T.

First it was the de-icer the applied to the West Seattle Bridge in above freezing temperatures and they blamed drivers for “not paying attention.”  The ironic part?  They caused easily avoidable traffic accidents and back ups by not paying attention and using double the amount of de-icer.

You can read the stories here:

Traffic on West Seattle Bridge shut down

(BTW, shame on you King 5 for not taking the Seattle DOT to task for blaming drivers. You should act like a news station, not a PR firm.)

Too much de-icer blamed for crashes on West Seattle Bridge

And then, this past Thursday, while I was parked in front of a ‘2 Hour Free Parking” sign, I received a parking ticket.  I could request a hearing and go before a judge to present my case of their ineptitude but it’s the holidays and it would cost me more in time than the $48 they want me to pay. (Of course it includes a fee for paying online. Instead of casting stones, they just nickel and dime you to death.)

My hope is that my $48 will go towards whatever fund there is to bring competency and common sense to the Seattle DOT.
